Custom Carpentry in Kota Kinabalu: Questions to Ask Before You Order
Custom carpentry can make a home work harder, but it should be specified before fabrication begins. A detailed drawing and material schedule prevent expensive assumptions.
Start with Storage Needs
Measure what needs to be stored and how it is used. Plan hanging, drawers, shelves, pull-outs and access around real routines rather than a showroom image.
Check the Drawings
Review dimensions, door swings, handles, internal layout and clearance for appliances. Confirm final site measurements before the workshop starts production.
Ask About Materials
Clarify board type, finish, edging, backing, hardware brand and warranty. Wet areas and heavy-use cabinets need suitable materials and construction.
Coordinate Other Trades
Electrical points, lighting, air-conditioning, skirting and wall finishes must be coordinated with the cabinetry drawings. This avoids cutting finished work later.
Agree on Handover
Set out the installation timeline, protection works, adjustment process and defect check. Photograph and sign off on completed items room by room.
